Onslow Angus top at $17,000

With 59 bulls on offer, Doug and Barbara Tozer, Onslow Angus, Cootamundra were pleased to score a top price of $17,000 and average $9018 for the 55 sold.
Onslow Angus co-principal Doug Tozer and Nigel Campbell, Kinloch Angus, Perth, Tasmania with Onslow Design L426 he purchased for $17,000. Mr Campbell has been an Onslow Angus client for the past 16 years.
Returning to the Onslow Angus sale at Cootamundra for the 16th occasion, Nigel Campbell paid top price of $17,000 for his selection, Onslow Design L426, a two-year-old son of Bannaby 458 Design.

“He has growth and substance and a lovely soft skin,” Mr Campbell said.
“There is plenty of lift and stretch and he has great presence.”
Mr Campbell’s new sire will be joined to a draft of specially selected females.
Another regular client, Allan and Coralee Gillogly, “Montrose”, Moree purchased nine new sires to top of $16,000.
Included in the draft was Onslow Renny, a son of Rennylea E90, bought for $10,000 and the Tozer family donated the proceeds of the sale to the Wal Hazlett Fund, the Garvin Institute and Making Strides.
“We all know someone who has been affected by debilitating diseases and if we can assist with research it will be to our advantage,” Mr Tozer said.
Other volume buyers included Frank Bragg, “Rossgole”, Aberdeen, who has been a consistent supporter of the stud for many years and purchased four bulls for an average $8750, the Heggaton family, “Bramshott”, Wallendbeen who also bought four bulls but paid average $8875 and E. J. Merriman and Son, “Humewood”, Yass bought three bulls to top $11,500.
Repeat client, Ian Darmody, Burbong Angus, Goulburn added to his sire battery with three bulls to average $11,500, while Weebo Park Pty Ltd, Bungowannah, took two bulls for an average $6500.
Buyers of single bulls included Todd McGrouther, owner of Hanworth Station, Taralga, and his manager, Aaren Neale, who paid $16,500 for Onslow Power Tool, an ET son of PA Power Tool, and Funny Hill Pastoral Co, “Funny Hill”, Binda, bought Onslow Regent, a son of Granite Ridge Regent for $12,000.
Lismore Pastoral Co, Cootamundra, paid $10,000 for Onlsow Design, a son of Bannaby Design, with Richard Last, “Fairview”, Gundagai, paying $9000 for Onslow Hadden.
The sale was settled by Elders Rural Services, Goulburn, with Andy McGeoch taking the bids.
